Product description

iCAS (iTernity Compliant Archive Software) is an enterprise archiving and data protection software that helps organizations store data flexibly and securely while meeting numerous legal regulations and internal policies in information archiving. It implements file system and API with WORM (Write Once, Read Multiple) functionality and offers software-defined archiving for long-term data storage. iCAS enables compliant archiving according to legal standards such as GDPR, SEC 17a-4, GDPdU, GoBD, AO, HGB, SOX, Basel II, etc. Please refer to the following links to access the relevant certificates: KPMG software certificate of iCAS: https://kpmg.bryter.io/s/wEstKqupRqOpUAw27LPLHw/atlas_automation_report_service_01_en?id=3c72e03c-824c-40eb-b119-4c0295358a7a&var=a KPMG GDPR audit of iCAS: https://kpmg.bryter.io/s/wEstKqupRqOpUAw27LPLHw/atlas_automation_report_service_01_en?id=20a3bc36-86cb-484e-8cdf-764760035f61&var=a The Cohasset assessment for iCAS with regard to compliance with SEC 17a-4: https://iternity.com/files/assets/03_Downloads-PDFs/EN/Certifications/Certification_iCAS_SEC_17a-4_Compliance_Assessment.pdf Many providers of PACS, HIS, DMS, ECM, ERP or email systems have certified the compatible integration of their systems with iCAS. The software solution can be integrated into heterogeneous infrastructures and combined with most storage systems. The iCAS solution is highly scalable and extremely performant for large volumes of small files as well as for large files (e.g. X-rays, ISO images). It is important to understand that iCAS itself is not a DMS or ECM system. However, ECM or DMS functionalities can be realized by independent software vendors (ISVs) who can integrate iCAS into their solution by using the iCAS File System Gateway (iFSG). The multi-tenancy capability makes it possible to set up several logically separate content repositories within an iCAS installation. This allows, for example, independent departments or branches of a company to store their information (e.g. employee data, accounting data or research data) in separate archive areas within a central iCAS archive. iCAS offers several important advantages thanks to its patented Content Storage Container (CSC) technology, such as immutable object storage for different storage media, self-healing of archived objects in file repositories, etc. The iCAS software runs on servers with Windows 2016, 2019 and 2022 operating system (64-bit) and stores the archive containers on local drives, SAN (iSCSI/FC), NAS or object storage. iCAS servers can also run as a virtual machine on various platforms, e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix XEN. The iCAS file system interface (iFSG - iCAS File System Gateway) can be configured using the iAdmin tool; it enables WORM functionality without the need to integrate it into the ISVs' program code. The iFSG offers different archive modes for different requirements. In read mode, it emulates the NAS functionality of common standards. This way, files are archived after the "read-only" bit is set. Companies must comply with various retention periods, but Article 17 of the GDPR offers an exception: EU citizens have the right to request the deletion of their personal data from databases, backups and archives within one month. The iCAS Special Delete Manager enables companies to meet this exception. Every deletion is documented in the audit log, and all processes and information can be traced in detail in the Special Delete Manager. This offers maximum control during the entire deletion process. In addition, the Special Delete Manager allows the deletion of additional data, such as data resulting from migration errors, before the retention period expires.
